What do we think Holiness is?

Someone who never sins

Someone who never thinks about sex

Someone who prays at least 5 hours a day

Someone who goes to church every time the doors are open

No drugs of any kind

No Cussing


What do we think Holiness is?

God Made us to be Men – but he didn’t make us to sin!

James 5:17

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

James 5:16

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.


What is biblical holiness?

Don’t be a stumbling block

Romans 14:13

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

How does God perceive your actions?

Are you grieving the Holy Spirit?

Ephesians 4:30

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.


Hebrews 4:16

Biblical holiness allow us to be bold with the things of God

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.


Don’t harden your heart

Hebrews 3:15

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.


Psalm 95:8

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Callouses of the hands – can keep you safe

Callouses of the heart – are dangerous


Psalms 95:10

10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
